Bradley DJR is a new revival of Bradley, an unusual blackletter published by ATF in 1895, with simplified forms and added softness to make it more usable for today’s readers.
Originally published as part of the Font of the Month Club it is based on Will H. Bradley’s cover for the Christmas edition of The Inland Printer magazine, and most records show that it was Hermann Ihlenburg who completed the design. Its simplified forms make it more accessible to readers who aren’t accustomed to blackletter, and this revival seeks to preserve its softness, descending caps, and distinctive storybook character.
The fonts mentioned in this article are available to rent by the month for a fraction of their retail price on Fontstand.
